How to Level Alchemy in World of Warcraft

Want to know the right tips on how to level Alchemy in World of Warcraft? One of the most powerful professions within World of Warcraft is alchemy as it allows you to make potions and elixirs which heal, replenish magic energy and improve stats. Alchemists can benefit from their own skill, as well as the people in his party as they have access to increased health, defense and stealth. A player needs to devote a significant amount of time and effort in order to become an expert alchemist. To help you, trainers are available in most major cities.

In WOW, you are only allowed two professions alongside the standard cooking and first aid ones, so if you do choose alchemy as your profession, you would be wise to choose herbalism as your second profession as you will easily be able to find herbs to concoct your potions.

Make sure that the level of your character is high enough at certain points in order to raise your alchemy level. Master Alchemist status cannot be achieved with a low level character.

When exploring or questing, make regular side trips to collect herbs for potion making as this will also update your training.

There are plenty of ingredients around to concoct simple minor healing potions and you can achieve a level 50 by making 50-60 of these.

When you reach alchemy level 50 and your character is at least at level 10, you should train to become a Journeyman Alchemist as this allows you to make more complex potions. Focus on these higher level potions and only make minor healing potions if you have extra left over. Potions with green or yellow names should be created as gray ones do not increase your experience.

When alchemy level 125 and character level 20 has been achieved, you should train to be an Expert Alchemist. Supplies will be scarce and more expensive from the auction house but by working hard and focusing on healing potions until level 175 and greater healing positions between levels 175 and 215, you will guarantee success.

Train to be an Artisan Alchemist at alchemy level 200 and character level 35 by talking to the appropriate trainer whilst continuing to make as many complex potions as possible.
Leveling comes at a cost here so buy the best ingredients. Level 200+ is when you are tested to the limit, so expect to make elixirs of detect undead, agility, greater agility and defense, together with superior healing potions. In addition to these, you should make superior mana potions and major healing potions, allowing you to reach Master Alchemist status.

Concocted potions should never be wasted, so share them with your guild or sell those at the auction house to fund alchemy. Selling to vendors should be avoided as they don´t offer as much money.

Another character can be created on the same server to store your supplies instead of overloading your inventory and you can exchange herbs and potions via the in-game mail system by exchanging money for items.
